The recycled car parts art of James Corbett

I went to an exhibition of Steampunk art in Oxford last year (see my write up on my old blog) and was very taken with the way that old technology was being recycled to create a new alternative technology. I began looking around for artists who did this really well and found people like Stephane Halleux and then I found James Corbett. although he isn't really part of the Steampunk movement, his sculpture is really very special.

Australian Corbett works with car parts to create vehicles, animals, people ... even abstract artwork. It's lovely stuff.

Visit his site here or these sites here and here that feature more of his work.
